Reminder: Christmas Zoom meeting is Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Hello everyone,

This is a reminder that the North Shore Numismatic Society’s Christmas Zoom meeting is next Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.  I will sign in at 6:30 pm to allow time for participants to sign in. The meeting is open to members and non-members, so everyone is welcome.


Program:  We will have a short PowerPoint Quiz on coins and banknotes consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. All you need is a pen and paper to record your answers.

Following the presentation, we will conduct our usual auction. Here is a list of the auction items.

The highlight of our meeting is our annual Pandora’s Box Draw.  For gifts, we are giving away approximately $650 of our Door Prize inventory and, included in this amount, will be four 1 oz. 2020 Silver Maple Leafs. The draw will take place following the auction, and as in the past, only paid-up members of the club are eligible to participate in the draw.  You must sign onto the December Zoom meeting to participate and be present at the end the draw to win.

 

If you are not a member of the club, but you would like to join in order to participate in the draw, please send an email to me at msouza1866@gmail.com and request a Membership Application.  The dues are only $15 per year and if you join now, I will extend your membership to the end of 2021.

Our Vice-President, Gene Simms, will record the name of all paid-up members that sign into the Zoom meeting on individual slips of paper and put them in a hat.  His wife or daughter will conduct the draw.  During the course of the draw, you DO NOT want your name to be drawn.  If it is drawn, you are disqualified from winning the Box.  The name on the last surviving undrawn slip wins the entire contents of the Box. Having won the Box twice in the past, I can tell you that it is a nice haul of numismatic items.

The club would like to take this opportunity to extend to you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe and hopefully, we can start physical meetings again in 2021.
