Little else is known about this promotional sticker, if they were attached to other notes, or if this stickered note was a one-off.

According to their current website the Ottawa Tourism group has been marketing Ottawa and Canada’s Capital Region as a destination for visitors, tours, media and conventions since 1971. Governed by a Board of Directors, Ottawa Tourism is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization that promotes Ottawa on the regional, national and international stages.

It’s possible the sticker on this note could be a part of an early effort within this group to promote Ottawa’s Tourism. In a modern take on this marketing tool, they have currently launched what they’re calling “#MyOttawaPass”, a free, mobile-exclusive coupon book, harkening back to past Entertainment books, for a variety of local business to encourage locals to enrich their local economy and discover aspects of their own communities.
