Hello everyone,
The next North Shore Numismatic Society Christmas meeting is on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
The meeting is held in the Multipurpose Room at the Bonsor 55+ Senior Centre across the parking lot from the Bonsor Recreation Centre Main Building. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the meeting will start at 7:00 pm. The meeting is open to members and non-members, so everyone is welcome.
Instead of a program, this meeting is an opportunity to get together with your fellow collectors for food and drinks. To make it a successful evening, please bring some finger foods or snacks to share with the others. If you plan to bring something, please email me at coinsns72@gmail.com with your contribution. The club will provide the plates, napkins, utensils and whatever else is needed. Please note that liquor is NOT permitted on the premises.
Please feel free to bring nibbles like:
Mini Sausage Rolls
Nanaimo Bars
Pringles Chips
Rum Cake
Pepperoni plate
Bottles of pop or containers of juice,
tin of cookies, cheese tray,
homemade Christmas baking.
The highlight of the meeting is our traditional Pandora’s Box draw. For those that are not familiar with this draw, please note that only paid-up members and junior members are entitled to participate. If you are not a member but you wish to participate, you may join the club that night for $15 and your membership would be extended to the end of next year.
To participate in Pandora’s Box, please bring a wrapped numismatic gift of at least $15 to the meeting. If you forget to bring a gift, there will be a limited number of pre-wrapped gifts available for purchase for $15. It would be placed in the Pandora’s Box, and you will receive a numbered ticket in exchange. Husband and wife memberships have to bring only ONE gift and are entitled to only ONE ticket. During the course of the draw, you DO NOT want your ticket number to be drawn. If it is drawn, you are disqualified from winning the Box. The holder of the last surviving undrawn ticket wins the contents of the Box. Having won the Box twice in the past, I can tell you that it is a nice haul of numismatic items. The winner will be required to open all the gifts.
Before the Pandora’s Box Draw, there will also be four (4) separate draws to win one of four silver 1 oz. 2022 Maple Leafs. Winners of the Silver Maple Leaf are still eligible for the Pandora’s Box Draw.
We will still have our usual Auction and Door Prize draws, so please remember to bring your floor submissions for the auction. Because of time constraints, submissions are limited to 5 per person. I only have a limited amount of change, so please bring small bills and coins to pay for your successful bids.
