Welcome back from your summer break.
In case you did not see my earlier email, I am sad to announce that Norm Williams passed away on July 23rd. He was 94 and over the decades, he was very active in both the Vancouver Numismatic Society and the North Shore Numismatic Society. Norm will be missed by everyone, so please join me in offering our deepest condolences to his wife Silja.
This is a reminder that the next North Shore Numismatic Society Meeting is next Tuesday, September 18th. The meeting is held in the Multipurpose Room in the Bonsor 55+ Senior Centre in Burnaby. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the meeting start at 7:00 pm. The meeting is open to both members and non-members, so everyone is welcome.
Program: Julian Ticehurst, a member of the Vancouver Ancient Coin Club, will present a PowerPoint prepared by the London Numismatic Society entitled “The Twelve Caesars and Other Imperial Portraits”. The PowerPoint covers portraits of Roman notables on coins. Thank you to the London Numismatic Society for creating and sharing this program and to Julian for presenting it. (I felt Julian is much better qualified than I to answer an questions that arise from the program).
Please don’t forget to bring your floor submissions for the auction. Also, please bring small bills and coins to pay for your purchases because I carry only a limited amount of change.
