This 2014 2 Pound coin from the British Antarctic Territory features an Orca (Killer Whale) with her calf swimming in the Antarctic waters with an iceberg in the background.  Orcas, also known as killer whales, are the largest existing members of the dolphin family, ranging in size up to 26 feet (8 meters) long.   They are highly social, often living together in matrilineal family groups. In the 1992 Provinces of Canada series the British Columbia 25 cents shows a pod of Orcas with the coastal range beyond. 1867 to 1992 says the obverse legend. It’s the 125th anniversary of the 1867 confederation. British Columbia joined the Confederation later in 1871. The Orca reverse was designed by Carla Herrera Egan.
